Caring for faux fur
Evelyne Prélonge faux fur is made to be lived with: on the sofa, at the foot of the bed, around your neck. Here is the maison’s own advice for keeping it soft.
What it is made of
The maison, now Maison Prélonge, makes its faux fur in France from a blend of acrylic and polyester fibres, 100% animal-free. A throw is 85% acrylic and 15% polyester, lined in polyester.
The safest way: a professional cleaner
The maison recommends professional dry cleaning.
By hand
Soak it in lukewarm water with a mild soap, rinse gently, let it dry flat, then brush the fur softly.
By machine
Use a delicate cycle at 30 °C at most, with a mild detergent and a gentle spin of 400 to 600 turns, then dry it flat.
What to avoid
No fabric softener, no bleach, no iron and no steam.
Between seasons
Store your pieces away from light and away from any source of heat.
